Jun 22-24, 2023 – Concord Market Days 2023

From Thu, June 22 through to Sat, June 24, 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, NHARL will once again have a tent at the Market Days Festival in downtown Concord. Our exhibit will focus on promoting a vegan lifestyle — by sharing information about the harms of fishing and eating fish.

We are looking for volunteers to help with handing out treats and literature and talking to visitors. You can volunteer for a full shift — or just an hour or so.

Market Days is lots of fun, and you can walk around and enjoy the festival before or after your shift. Bring along your family or a friend!

Apr 15, 2023 – Discover Wild NH Day

April 15, 2023 — Discover Wild NH Day

On Saturday, April 15, NHARL will once again have a tent at NH Fish & Game’s Discover Wild NH Day, an annual event held at NH Fish and Game headquarters in Concord.

The event, which is free and open to the public, goes from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Although this event promotes hunting, fishing, and trapping, as well as other forms of animal exploitation, groups that do true environmental and conservation work will also be exhibiting. For NHARL, the event is a valuable opportunity to spread a message of compassion and respect for wildlife.

We have not yet decided on a topic for or exhibit but will update this page once we do.

Dec 17 & 18, 2022 – Protest Bull Riding

Once again, NHARL will be on site at the SNHU Arena in Manchester for two demonstrations against the Professional Bull Riders event:

  • Saturday, Dec 17th — 5:30 to 7:30 pm
  • Sunday, Dec 18th — 12:30 to 2:30 pm

Bull riding is cruel, not amusing!

Please join us outside the SNHU Arena for one or both peaceful protests against bull riding. Meet on the sidewalk near the SNHU Arena’s front entrance on the corner of Elm St. and Lake Ave.

Signs will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!

We will be handing out the 2-sided flyer shown below.

The photos below from the last bull riding event held in Manchester show that Tractor Supply is a major sponsor of the tour.

Nov 25, 2022 – Fur Free Friday

Join the New Hampshire Animal Rights League on Fur Free Friday, November 25th, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in a peaceful protest against the use of fur.

Fur Free Friday, which takes place the day after Thanksgiving, is a global campaign in which people all over the world educate holiday shoppers about the cruel fur industry.

Every fur coat, fur accessory, or piece of fur trim, whether sourced from wild animals or those raised on fur farms, causes tremendous suffering and takes unnecessary lives.

Please meet on the corner of Hazen Drive and Loudon Road in Concord, NH. Parking: If you turn onto Hazen Drive and take the first left, parking is available. Signs will be provided.

Sunday, Nov 6, 2022 – Annual Meeting & Gentle Thanksgiving

Guest Speaker

Chris Schadler

of Project Coyote

Becoming Wolf: Eastern Coyotes in New Hampshire — Myths surround coyotes and cloud our understanding of them. Conservation biologist Chris Schadler will tell us the true story of eastern coyotes — how they live among us but are rarely seen, and how they contribute to keep our forests and fields healthy. Despite the ecological benefits they provide, coyotes are the most persecuted carnivore in North America. And despite human efforts to eradicate them, coyotes survive and thrive. Chris been studying wolves and coyotes for 40 years.
