Dairy Is Scary message at Concord Trunk-Or-Treat

Trunk-or-Treat in downdown Concord, NH attracts thousands of trick-or-treaters, so NHARL rented a spot and delivered an unequivocal “Dairy Is Scary” message to kids and adults alike.

Our trunk included a TV that played the following 1-minute video of sad scenes on dairy farms.

We got their attention...
...but we also gave them a delicious dairy-free alternative!
We handed out more than 1,500 pieces of plant-based chocolate — with an important message securely attached!

Visitors were delighted to learn that Reese’s and Hershey’s have plant-based versions, with many parents thanking us for providing a dairy-free option for their lactose-intolerant children.

Children are drawn to screens, so the video captured their attention.
People are shocked to learn that dairy calves are taken from their mothers soon after birth.
Good thing NHARL was there to expose the truth about dairy while Hood gave out samples of milk stolen from cows!
Every child and adult who visited our trunk learned that we can enjoy delicious chocolate without harming cows!

For the cost of a piece of candy and a business card, Concord’s Trunk-or-Treat event offered a wonderful opportunity to share a message of compassion for animals with a wide audience.
