On October 17, 2026, the NH Animal Rights League once again took part in the Animal Rescue League of NH’s annual Howl-O-Ween 5K, revisiting the Dairy Is Scary message — just in time for Halloween!
This is one of our favorite events every year, and we were happy to brave the cold, windy weather to be there. We handed out vegan candy, enjoyed all the creative human and dog costumes, and chatted with participants about animal rights.
Our “Dairy Is Scary” messaging helped educate people about the cruelty animals face in the dairy industry and why choosing dairy-free can make a difference.
Dairy is scary, but choosing dairy-free is easier than you think! The dairy industry causes immense suffering for cows and their calves. Every time you choose plant-based milk, cheese, or other dairy-free alternatives, you’re helping reduce that suffering. Start with one simple swap and make compassion part of your everyday choices.
