This comment was made by a former U.S. government employed trapper,

“ depending on how hard the animal has struggled, the leg will be lacerated, often dislocated at the shoulder, sometimes twisted off above the paw so that only the leg sinews bind the limb to the trap.”

The jury is in on this one, trapping is cruel.

Please support HB 565, the bill which will ban leghold traps and conibear traps in New Hampshire. Contact your Representatives and ask them to stop the cruelty.

Thanks,

Hello animal lovers,
House Bill 565, which will prohibit leghold and conibear traps in NH had a hearing in Concord on February 22, 2007. Those of us supporting the bill were outnumbered by the trappers 35 to 140. To make up for that shortfall we need everyone of you to contact your Representatives, especially if they are on the committee. Tell them to do the right thing and vote for the passage of this legislation. It is time to end the horror of the trap and get these land mines out of our forests and fields.

To find your legislator go to http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/ie/whosmyleg

Here are the names of the Representatives on the Fish and Game Committee. These folksreally need to hear from us because they will vote if the bill “ought to pass” or is “inexpedient to legislate.” Next it will go for a Full House vote and if it passes on to the Senate. If it doesn’t pass the House animals will continue to suffer in traps. We need your help, please. Contact your Reps. now!
